Privacy Policy

Effective 1 October 2026 · Last updated 1 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Hunch Tarot (“Hunch”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use hunchtarot.com, app.hunchtarot.com and related Hunch services (the “Service”).

Important: Hunch may store your account information, prompts, conversations, photos, uploads and generated content so we can provide the Service, keep your history available, personalise your experience, protect the Service and improve our products. We do not keep personal information indefinitely merely “just in case”; retention is tied to the purposes described below and applicable law.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Hunch, we may collect:

2. Photos and facial images

When you upload a photo or selfie, we process the image to provide image-generation, personalisation and related Service features. A facial image is personal data when it relates to an identifiable person. We do not describe ordinary photo processing as biometric identification unless we specifically use technical processing to uniquely identify or authenticate a person.

You should only upload photos you have the right to use. If a photo depicts another person, you are responsible for having an appropriate legal basis or permission to submit it.

3. How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

4. Lawful bases

Where UK data-protection law applies, we rely on one or more lawful bases depending on the activity:

5. Service providers and AI providers

We may share or make information available to vendors that help us operate the Service, such as cloud hosting, storage, analytics, payments, communications, security and AI/image-generation providers. Those providers may process your prompts, photos or other content when necessary to perform the requested feature.

We may also disclose information in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, subject to applicable law and appropriate protections.

6. International transfers

Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK transfer rules apply, we use an available legal transfer mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards, and carry out required transfer assessments where applicable.

7. How long we keep information

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing account history, maintaining the Service, meeting legal/accounting requirements, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and protecting security.

Retention periods vary by data type and context. We may keep limited information for longer where required by law, necessary for security/fraud prevention, or retained in backups for a limited period before deletion or overwriting. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where practicable.

8. Product improvement

We may analyse usage, errors, feature interactions and other service data to improve Hunch. We may use de-identified or aggregated data for research, analytics and product development.

We do not rely on this Privacy Policy alone as blanket permission to use identifiable private photos or sensitive personal content for unrelated purposes. If we want to use identifiable user content for a materially different purpose that requires consent or another notice, we will provide the appropriate notice or choice.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, request portability, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, and complain to a data-protection authority.

UK users may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). You may first contact Hunch through the support channel available in the Service so we can try to resolve the issue.

10. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you should avoid uploading information you do not need Hunch to process.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. Where local law requires a higher age or parental consent for data processing, we apply the applicable requirement.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, law or our practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes may be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
